Visions
"Visions" aims to construct a speculative case about vision and media consumption. The objects depicted, which are realized using camera parts, protective glasses and objects that are in some ways related to vision and imaging are contextually transformed into alternative, ultimately nonfunctional and fictional devices of vision alteration and media consumption. At the same time, the medical images depicting eyes which are exhibited alongside refer to a potentially distorted mode of relationship with virtual reality devices and virtual media. These found images portraying damaged eyes also reveal the question of whether any virtual experience can have a permanent influence on our perceptive process and on our understanding of reality.
