Reconfigured Perspectives
Reconfigured Perspectives explores alternative ways of experiencing photographic landscapes beyond the fixed viewpoint traditionally imposed by photography. The installation creates a subjective viewing experience, allowing each visitor to navigate the depicted environment from their own unique perspective, as if physically present within the photographed space.
The work functions by tracking the viewer's position and displaying the corresponding image from an extensive array of photographs captured from precisely measured locations and angles. As visitors move through the installation, the displayed perspective shifts accordingly, creating the illusion of looking through a window into the landscape rather than at a static photograph.
When multiple viewers are present, the display automatically divides into separate sections, providing each participant with an individualized viewpoint and enabling multiple, simultaneous experiences of the same environment.
